Review of Hell and Back Again (2011) by Craig Dylan W — 06 Feb 2012
Sadly, and not because they're not important, this won't be the last in a large group of doc's on the war in Iraq. This actually might be the best one thus far though. Shows first hand the conflict and the horror of it, and brilliantly juxtaposes it with a soldier trying to readjust to civilian life after being wounded in combat. It doesn't, and shouldn't, shy away from the torture of rehabilitation after a bad wound and paints a sad but real portrait of not only PTSD, but also double edged sword that is prescription pain medication.
Important, intense, disturbing and real.
