Review of Heist (2001) by Derek H — 16 Sep 2008
Trademark Mamet for sure. The plot turns and twists are exceedingly clever but nowhere near as enthralling as Spartan. The dialogue is sharp and witty but is in no way brilliant as his other scripts. It's a fun movie to watch for all it's wit but doesn't have much character depth.
And, although the ending gave me a crack of a smile, everything was just a muddled mess and entirely unrealistic... something that isn't very Mamet.
