Review of Heights (2013) by Tony U — 12 Jun 2007
The movie is an interesting flow of interlocking stories that take place in a city where everyone have only 2 degrees of separation betwixt one another.
The movie is one day in the life of a famous actress, her daughter, her future son-in-law, her daughter's ex-boy friend, a rabbi, and a faceless character who is a great photographer who has just released a book of sensual photographs of men who were both his muses and his lovers.
Add to the this dramatic ambrosia, the fact that our actress'es (played stunningly by Glen Close, who is gorgeous as a straight, silky haired brunette)future son-in-law happened to be one of those male muses.
Add to that further character's who find themselves caught in the web of the stories already being juggled, and, you have a pretty decent movie with superb dialogue, excellent photage of New York, and some fabulous performances.
In the end, actress'es photographer daughter, Isabel, played by the gorgeous and stunning Elizabeth Banks, ends up being the primary focus of this movie.
Glen Close again had a vivacious energy.
My favorite scene in the movie was Isabel's second break up with her ex-boyfriend, the line she says in response to his question, "where will you be 20 years from now?" to which she brilliantly replied, "somewhere else.".
Excellent relationship check mate.
The movie is similarly like watching a chess match in a city that is on many levels, New York City; many; "Heights.".
