Review of Hedwig and the Angry Inch (2001) by James C — 17 Sep 2009
Possibly the perfect movie. A musical with so much heart and story that it works without the music. Music (rock, no less!) that works outside the context of the film (and in many different genres). A film that accomplishes both not taking itself seriously at times yet brings such a potent love story.
At every viewing I laugh, sing, and cry. It's a movie about learning to be comfortable with yourself and learning that you should only be loved for who you are.
