Review of Hedwig and the Angry Inch (2001) by Alex M — 21 Jul 2009
Im not the hugest fan of musicals, but this is up there with the wall, hair, and rocky horror picture show as my favourite :D.
The acting was great, the singing was beautiful, as were the songs which were well-written, hilarious, and politically and socially poignant...
It kind of took the piss out of one of my favourite historical periods (the cold war era) but more because the whole iron curtain exercise was infantile and pointless than because it wasnt a massive human tragedy...
Sometimes the only thing left to do about ginormous, costly, and morally reprehensible human error is to put on a big blonde wig and sing a song about it :D.
