I went in with low expectations from all the negative reviews, but I found "Hector" uplifting. I like Pegg's other work, and don't find this to be such a departure, except when his normally cherubic face contorts into a pile of emotional goo.
The cast clicks, dialogue is clever, music is worldly, cinematography is beautiful. In the running for my favorite film of the year.
