This film starts off talking about hecklers than tears into critics. The general message seems to be that critics should offer constructive criticism. A basic message that most people would agree with.

However, it seems that many of these comedians don't want to listen to criticism, period. Many of them insult back, or delude themselves into thinking their material is not worthy of criticism. Many of them seem to contend that negative opinions shouldn't exist or that those who dislike their work are stupid. What, do they want us all to be the same and have the exact same opinions? I don't get it. You can't please everyone. That's a basic rule of life. Either you make your work and don't care what someone says or you have terrible self-esteem and only create so that someone will congratulate you. And that's what it comes down to. It seems that those who take criticism the worst are those who are looking for gratification by seeking approval from the crowd, and most of the more mature comedians acknowledge that. Are hecklers douchebags? Yes. Should critics back up their negative critiques? Yes. Many of them attack performers because they wish they could create, or they have small egos that need stroking by putting others down. But others have legitimate things to say. It is not the worst thing to be told that you have to improve. I couldn't help but think that some of these performers need to realize that when you jump into the spotlight, not everyone's going to like you. Thinking that you deserve adulation is self-indulgence at it's worst.
