Part of my virtual gay film festival in honour of mardi gras week - full on - this is the kind of film you can watch again and again - it is really excellent - yet somehow as much as we get into the head of pauline - the killing of her mother remains unfathommable - what could they hope to acheive? how did they expect not to get caught? - the implication is that the hatred of her mother is the displaced frustration with the families and the society that do not understand them or their love - but even so it is such a callous cruel and useless act of violence kind of unnatural.
