Peter Jackson takes on true crime with significant amounts of unorthodox flair. Features lively performances, but tonally it's uneven. Inevitably it steps out of blackly-funny territory, and right into blackly-queasy territory. Leaves you a little empty handed, without much more than a bit of epilogue text to see you out the door.
