Review of Heaven Is for Real (2014) by Kyle C — 03 Aug 2014

I feel like Heaven Is for Real is a great movie when it's actually telling it's story.

Not when its adding filler to fill up time, since those parts are very boring to sit through.

I felt the acting was hit or miss. Greg Kinnear was great, but there were a lot of moments when I felt like the actors were just reading off of the script.

Speaking of the script, again, it was very good one when it was actually telling the story. The relationship between the father and son was pretty good and the son's story is an interesting one (but not when the son was dramatically staring into the camera- seriously how many times did he do that?).

And despite my problems with the film, this is a very pretty movie. The scenery is nice if not over the top at times.

So not a perfect movie by any means, but when it comes to religious movies, you could go with so much worse.
