Review of Heaven Is for Real (2014) by Julie K — 15 Aug 2014
(there is SLIGHT spoilers but they are only what is on the ads for the.
Movie).
I had zero intentions of seeing this movie; but it was on demand and I.
Was doing laundry late night and decided to watch it while I was.
Folding clothes.
The ads sounded slightly preachy and the tone felt like it may be more.
Than a little "corny" (no pun intended, since it is on a farm in.
Nebrasks).
But if you watch it for the total experience rather than judge it for.
The literal content, this reminded me a LOT of Field of Dreams.
That movie also was, supposedly impossible. The main character was also.
Down on his luck and a laughingstock to some, the dutiful wife was also.
Supportive (though struggling), and there in this one are two cute.
Kids; rather than one; with the townspeople being both supportive and.
Potentially hostile.
Yet in this one, the "voice" was not heard by the man; but by his son.
Does a father metaphorically build a ball field in the middle of a farm.
When it is his four year old son who metaphorically hears the voice.
Saying "If you build it, he will come"?
This is not a "church" movie. It is a "life movie". If people would.
Quit fearing the supposed Christian theme and actually watch it for the.
Experience, the real sharing of community and the very real reactions.
People hit when they are surrounded by pain, miracles and life's good.
And life's bad, they would see it differently. It is ironic, the circus.
Of harsh response in reviews to this movie by many mirror the harsh.
Response to the experiences in the movie from many.
Watch it thinking Field of Dreams with no expectations of being.
Preached to; rather dialog of a ton of differing beliefs and valid.
Questions asked by all,and expect you will be moved. Especially if you.
Have ever lost loved ones. If you liked Field of Dreams, you will like.
This one.
Regardless of what you believe.
