Sweet lighthearted comedy from the late 1970s. Warren Beatty plays an up-and-coming American football player who dies before his time and is allowed to come back to life because of an administration error in heaven but must live in the body of an aristocratic industrialist.

.. A remake of the 1940s 'Here Comes Mr Jordan' and the more recent 'Down To Earth' featuring Chris Rock. Good cast overall, especially James Mason and Buck Henry as Beatty's protective angelic guides, also with Dyan Cannon as his wife, Charles Grodin as his assistant who is having an affair with his wife and plotting to murder him, Jack Warden as his football coach and mentor (in typical Warden style with his usual rants, etc.

) and a horribly miscasted Julie Christie as his love interest. Predicatable stuff, but sweet and charming at the same time. The story has been remade countless of times, but still good for a 1970s picture.

The film never really picks off and feels a buit empty afterwards in terms of its eventual payoff... It does have its moments. Still, it had received a lot of Oscar nominations for its time...
