In order to get a winning movie, Warren Beatty combined a comedy with sports and a whodunnit; and somehow it works, though god knows why! While neither Beatty or Christie in the lead roles excel, Jack Warden as his old coach, and the scheming lovers played by Charles Grodin & Dyan Cannon more than make up for it.
A Star vehicle that shows all the star's inadequacies.
