Review of Heaven Can Wait (1978) by Jack W — 29 Sep 2009
Great re-make. the film was not only superbly crafted but brilliantly acted, stuck to its intent and knew what it was and what it wanted to accomplish as well as being topical today as well as when it was made.
I really liked the score and what they did with the saxophone throughout the film. All of the actors were remarkable, what a great ensemble. Beatty played the role to perfection, manic and calm all the same.
My appreciation for him grows with every film I see of his. Julie Christie was her usual beautiful self and the supporting roles were awesome. The writing was crisp and clever. This film deserved all the accolades it received.
