Review of Heaven (1987) by Martin T — 10 Jul 2008
I avoided this at first because I didn't want to see someone else messing up Kieslowski's work. After seeing some other Tom Tykwer films, however, I decided to give it a shot, and I'm pleased.
It's pure Kieslowski. Kieslowski's typical moral ambiguity and quiet philosophical reflection are there in full, as are the perhaps-too-clever-for-their-own-good touches (e.g., Philippa/Filippo).
A lovely film and thoughtful.
