It is painted a dark comedy mixed with a dry humor in it. It directly throws a good message behind the movie about a high school society. The movie purposely mocks at the high school teenager cliches and deeply examine on suicide theory.
Not only, it also sneak a peeping tom on high school has lack of politics advocate. Ryder and Slater definitely shot a bullet at us and frame us look like a suicide scene to bash the 1980's teen movie.
