Review of Heathers (1989) by Cade H — 13 Jan 2015
Heathers is a unique mix of an 80's teen comedy that over the course of the film transformed into something very different. It was like if in the movie Mean Girls, Lindsay Lohan started offing the other girls in her crew.
Things started off innocent and then the movie got rather serious and brought in multiple murders and even something along the line of Columbine. I enjoyed the unexpected and it kept me on the edge of my seat because nothing was predictable at all.
The two main leads did a good job together and Slater played a great dark, yet likable maniac. Do not let the cover and image of this film fool you, it is not your typical high school comedy but one with a much darker idea in mind.
