Review of Heathers (1989) by Shaun B — 16 Mar 2015
I was never a big fan of either star, Winona Ryder or Christian Slater, but this movie was dark and twisted enough to be a great movie when I first saw it as a budding teenager...it appealed in all the right ways for a twisted mind with a great sense of humor.
Looking back on it today, it is obviously rooted firmly in 1980s culture, but the dark humor still cuts deep despite some cloying acting and occasional weak spots. I was wondering why the director didn't have more full length movies under his belt but then I noticed he directed HUDSON HAWK.
...oops.
