"Lick it up, baby! LICK. IT. UP.".
A high school student starts to hang out with the popular girls in hopes to become popular herself, only to hate them even more to the point that she wishes they were dead. Never actually following up on that wish, her new boyfriend starts killing them off, along with various other popular student at the school, making them seem like a teenage suicide epidemic to the adults. Things go south from there when her boyfriend wants to kill the entire school.
Heathers is a dark comedy of what would happen if the school's social misfits got what they wanted and got away with it. Let's admit it. It came through each of thier thoughts at least once. This movie at some points can identify with high schoolers and college students looking back. It takes this concept and somehow manages to make it oddly funny. The acting is decent which only heightens my fear of Christian Slater (seriously... anyone else find him creepy?). Music is ok. It's rather funny how they use "Que Sera Sera". Winona is great (as usual) in this one.
If you like high school movies, films which involve women being total bitches, or movies with a bigger message than what appears on the surface, this one is for you.
