This movie was fascinating. Olivia, the 1920's housewife, is interesting because she transgressed the stuffy Anglo-Indian environment she's stuck in but also the uber-conservative Indian mores that were part of the petty-princedom that surrounded her.
Fascinating portrayal of what life must have been like in this community. Added benefit was that James Ivory was there at HFA to discuss the film.
