Review of Heat (1995) by Lincoln R — 31 Aug 2014
A truly overwhelming film and one of my favorite heist films. This movie has a great plot centered on the exploits of professional robber, Neil McCauley and the pursuit of said criminal by Lt. Vincent Hanna. The track is fitting and well orchestrated the final track that plays out the movie (made by Moby) gives a lasting impression of the impressive performance of the ensemble cast.
The film knows when to be Tense and exciting and when to be calm and calculated. With articulate dialog that makes out the characters to be realistic and clever, just as you want them to be. And you can tell that the crew of this movie defintely put in the hard effort to make this movie one of the best Heist films of all time. The pacing of the movie was, for the most part impeccable, however their are certain points that drag on a little too long. They are unidentifiable to me because they are still so good of a scene it is difficult to distinguish it from the rest of the film.
It has the combined skill of Scarface and Goodfellas contained within a large and combined film. Truly worth every penny you dish out to see this film.
