Review of Heat (1995) by Anna B — 19 Apr 2016
So De Niro risks it all for...Amy Brenneman. Hahaha. As a badass display of stone cold professionalism it can't be beaten. I would have been happy with three hours of McCauley's team prepping and executing jobs.
But I'm forgiving a lot of bad shit, most of it involving Pacino in full-on Scent of a Woman mode and his character's insipid soap opera of a personal life. Those heists, though. Such precision, on camera and behind it.
