Review of Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse (1991) by Chase V — 30 Nov 2008
Hearts of Darkness is a well-devised documentary about the chaos that was Apocalypse Now's production. Francis Coppola is quite the character, it seems, and some of the revelations about Martin Sheen is indeed surprising, yet somehow predictable.
The film is essentially a fun, entertaining romp, if not insightful and useful tool on how to recuperate from a major fuck up of a massive production...
