Review of Hearts in Atlantis (2001) by Amy A — 18 Dec 2008
A movie that really ends up going nowhere as it tries to run the rat race of truely suspenseful, mysterious movies. This movie is honestly most akin to the fat kid that wants to play tag with the rest but just ends up on the sidelines, wheezing.
The young actress who plays Carol is at times HORRENDOUS and at others convincing enough. Anthony Hopkins is inherently creepy because he has been forever typecast for me through the extreme characters he has chosen to play.
The mom is . . . well, I have such a good mom that she's totally unbelievable for me, but maybe others with a different life experience would say the opposite. Not really worth spending money on.
