Review of Hearts Beat Loud (2018) by Lincoln K — 07 Jun 2018
Nick Offerman saves the day. The film has an infectious sense of joy that I was able to forgive the film of many of its contrivances. In many movies about amateur musicians, the songs are good and professional.
Here they are too good. I always get annoyed at movies that work too hard to try and prove that their characters are the most talented around. That is the films biggest flaw. Despite that, Nick Offerman feels the most genuine and really seems like he is enjoying himself.
