An above average British horror drama film, with a difference.

I loved the start of this as a man walks through a beautifully shot London city. But, predictably the film does not live up to these admirable back drops, but it does a great job.

The main character is a keen amateur photographer, with a large red skin defect/birthmark on his face. When exploring abandoned lock ups for photo material he discovers a hidden creature, with relating following crimes coming to light. He then meets someone rather odd - who offers him a deal.

The acting and raw direction is commendable, with the idea and effects quite chilling. London is captured remarkably well and the pace of the film encourages you to keep watching as it builds momentum, after a biting start.

The introduction and inclusion of 'Pappa B' (the devil?) will definitely divide audiences, adding to or killing the interest of viewer, but..... This scene really shows the rebirth of the lead..Jamie. The film has a few clever quotes, exchanges of dialogue, signifying plot developments and .... The film, whatever you may think of, is pretty unique, clever/ambitious, visually strong and potent - however bizare, it is component rich in modern British filmography.

Overall a good unknown pick up of a film, one especially for UK Film fans, that surprises with its dark, beautifully shot and directed momentum. The ending is a let down however.
