Review of Heartless (2010) by Alex V — 17 Jun 2012
6.6/10 --.
Starts out a bit rough, what with our hero walking around being sullen, than weepy, and pretty much just plain emo. But then the film throws monsters, pacts with the devil, and awkward male-prostitute murder at you. Suddenly you're watching a pretty decent horror flick. Honestly, "Heartless" has no right being as funny as it is. It dabbles in multiple genre's, but it only really clicks when it's attempting comedy (I'm convinced the comedy is intentional). What's left is well filmed and modestly entertaining, though the film's moralistic intentions can be somewhat grating.
