Review of Heartbreak Ridge (1955) by Paul Z — 18 Jun 2012
Interesting characterizations in the formulaic ragtag bunch of misfits would've made this serviceable boot camp drama more compelling, but Eastwood's tailor-made drill sergeant is still a treat to watch as he tells off his superior officers, shucks off his young platoon's rebellions with ease, gets into quick brawls and spews one vulgar witticism after another.
Good thing he knows a colonel who sees things his way, if only because they served together a long time ago or something.
