Review of Heart and Souls (1993) by Bryan W — 19 Feb 2011
A bizarre and charming romantic comedy that functions more on the strengths of its actors than the strength of its script.
Downey Jr. lights up the screen, clearly having a ball acting as both himself and the four other protagonists while they individually do a great job of making you forget that they're playing roles. If anything, the film suffers from being underwritten and has issues with maintaining the proper focus, but it's more original and fun than most romantic comedies, even if poor Elisabeth Shue is dreadfully underwritten.
