Review of Hear and Now (2007) by Private U — 17 May 2008
Amazing doco - the filmmaker follows her 65-year-old deaf parents as they get cochlear implants and hear for the first time. The dad has a hilarious take on things (geese are the worst sound ever apparently), but it's also obviously really hard for them.
The whole cinema was in floods of tears the whole time. It's on again on Tuesday at 4:30, go if you can make it! (Part of the film fest).
