Review of He Was a Quiet Man (2007) by Aaron L — 16 Apr 2009
If "He Was a Quiet Man" was able to shed some of its ridiculous indie quirkiness and perhaps just a few of the misses amongst its hit-n-miss direction & writing, it quite possibly could've been a startlingly powerful and affecting film; likewise, Christian Slater could've quite possibly been staring an Oscar nomination square in the eyes in the season following the film's release.
Sadly, "He Was a Quiet Man" is what it is: an occasionally inspired though supremely forgettable indie flick with a reach that far exceeds its grasp. 2 stars.
