Review of He Got Game (1998) by Shaun M — 07 Mar 2009
One of my favorite Spike Lee and Denzel Washington films. Well written and directed, and Washingtons acting was sharp and focused.
Ray Allens acting felt a bit stiff and rehearsed but for a basketball player it was a fairly good effort. Having Allen a real star player in the cast was a good idea his basketball skills really did stand out and honestly showed his characters talent.
The best basketball film to date with its strongly expressed themes of greed and trust make it the best Lee Washington collaboration.
