Review of Haywire (2011) by Juan B — 20 Oct 2012
Fine but rather so-what. I don't think there is anything here that will make Haywire stand-out and be memorable altought it is a passable flick. The best thing about Haywire is its all-star cast that includes Michael Fassbender, Channing Tatum, Antonio Banderes, Michael Douglas, Bill Paxton and Ewan McGregor.
Each of these men play second fiddle to the film's star, MMA superstar Gina Carano who plays assassin Mallory Kane. I enjoyed this as I watched it; but nothing will stick with me once I see another similar film .
.. it is too much alike others of this genre although there is a great hotel room brawl here between Carano and one of her co-stars. I'd say this is a lesser Soderbergh film as he's had some much better in the past (Traffic, Erin Brokovich).
Nobody should hate this; but I think few will love it.
