Review of Haywire (2011) by Jasen L — 02 Sep 2012
I've never wanted to walk out of a movie as much as I did with Haywire but damn that Gina Carano for being so good looking. This movie had everything going for it, seemingly perfect leading lady although she hadn't ever proven that, her career in MMA seemed to give her some amount of credibility in terms of being a "tough chick" on screen, stellar supporting cast accomplished director in Steven Soderbergh and exotic locations.
Well just because you have all the puzzle pieces doesn't mean you know what to do with them. Poor pacing, lousy acting, unnecessary narrative devices and an overall feeling of "who cares ?" made me want to leave after 35 excruciating mins.
Whats sad about all this is this "puzzle could have been Jason Bourne good. Too bad.
