Review of Havoc (2005) by Sean S — 12 Apr 2010
The screenplay was written by Stephen Gaghan (Syriana) and it's quite solid. Acting was good all round from all the leads but I did have problems with Joseph Gordon Levitt's character, acting all "Snoop" and stuff. Guy was very annoying but then again that was the point right. There were sub-plots in this movie that was just left unresolved which also had a negatve impact on the film.
What I did like though was the soundtrack. Mostly hip hop but good hip hop. There's some great Latin hip hop tunes in there, man I gotta get me one of those cd's...anybody familiar with some good Latino hip hop???
Okay then so the whole 'people out of place don't know what they getting into' plot was well done this time round and the lead actor playing the Latino gang leader was good (he plays in Six Feet Under...young-ish guy). There's some T&A all over this film...and you'll get to see Anne Hathaway like you've NEVER seen her before, trust me guys, that alone is worth the rental, as for Bijou Phillips, if you're familiar with her (Bully), well she does what she does best in movies...need I say more.
It's actually a pretty good movie but with problems. Definately worth checking out.
