Review of Havoc (2005) by Shapito V — 18 Mar 2009
Kind of a weak movie, nothing special about it really. Some rich white kids acting tough, get a dose of reality and discover they are wannabe's. I will say that Anne Hathaway was impressive in her role.
Took it to the extremes with major psychological issues and coming from an insane home life, it is quite believable to see where her character comes from. Bijou Phillips did a good job as well; really could feel sorry for her character.
But I found fault just in the overall storyline. Gangs are not just letting chicks come on by the barrio, it is simple. The initiation scene would have been the first part of the scenario, not invites to parties and such.
There are better movies out there that broach the subjerct matter in this film.
