Review of Havoc (2005) by King H — 09 Jul 2010
Not very effective storytelling in the movie. Anne Hathaway and Freddy Rodriguez were great in their roles, and were by and far the most believable of all of the characters. Another percentage bump was Hathaway's incredible body.
The movie, however, just descends into a cheap porn film with a bunch of useless wiggers. I felt like I was watching Malibu's Most Wanted again, but not enjoying it. The ending was pretty much trash in the rated version; and according to IMDB the unrated ending is probably more the way the movie should have ended.
Bijou Philips character ruined the movie for me as well. Her role just seemed to be the antiquated antebellum role where the white woman wants the brown sugar, gets it, then cries rape once she is discovered.
In this day and age, there must have been a better way to write that portion of the storyline. Good thing I saw this through my netflix. If I paid to see this in a movie theater, or wasted gas to go to a Blockbuster to see this, I would have been pissed.
