Review of Hated: GG Allin and The Murder Junkies (1993) by Mike F — 13 Feb 2005
I've known about and been listening to GG Alin for a long time now. Unfortunatly, I was never able to see him perform live.
GG Alin went beyond what any other artist has done to date. He was not simply just a "shock-rocker" like all the other coporate whishy washy artists that are on the market today. GG Alin was the real thing. GG Alin acted on sheer impulse, he didn't know fear.
This documentary was brought to use by Todd Phillips who also directed Road Trip and Old School. Todd Phillips take's us on a trip inside the mind of the madman himself. This documentary is mandatory for anyone even interested in GG Alin. This is one of the best and most honest attempts to delve inside of GG's mind that I've seen to date.
This documentary includes, interviews with GG Alin, Merle Alin (GG's brother, Murder Junkie and Antiseen bassist), Dino (the Murder Junkies naked drummer), various school yard friend's of GG's, GG's music teacher in high school, the gasoline alley show in entirety, and much, much more.
