Upon a second viewing I like this slightly less. It is over the top gore and some imaginative death scenes but it's not great. Awesome to see Englund, Todd and Hodder together again. I quite liked Richmond and Shen's characters, they provided the cliche comedy relief all this films have.
On;y real problems are it's quite slow and it just ends with a fade to black. I'm now aware that 3 more sequels are in the pipe line so Hatchet 2 will hopefully pick up exactly where Hatchet ended.
