Review of Hatchet (2006) by Adam E — 18 Sep 2010
Some decent gore effects make it easier to get through the god awfull plot. I think the throwback vibe to the 80's horror is in full swing here as the characters are either boring or irratating and its a hard slog to get to the gore.
The gore is great and loads of fun. Never has the term gore porn been better used than here the camera zooming in and gloriously lingering on the blood and entrails (which are swung about and spread all over this movie).
Victor crawley is a fun baddy but looks a little to much like jason vorhees sans the mask and its hard not to see its a guy with a massive prostectic all over his head and shoulders. Least he looks like he could do the damage (this guy is ripped) and his origin is different but familiar enough to be fun.
Fun to watch, not to good to sit through the dialogue scenes and hell you get to see mercedes boobs loads (harmony of angel fame) so its not all bad news.
