Review of Harvie Krumpet (2003) by Clayton W — 06 Dec 2009
Harvie Krumpet is a fantastic short that won the Oscar a few years ago. It came to my attention because it was done by Adam Eliot, who made Mary and Max, which you must see if you haven't already. Harvie Krumpet is done in the same style, but the animation is a bit more primitive and the story is simpler and more quickly told, this being a short. There are lots of great images, and Geoffrey Rush is the perfect narrator to relay the mix of laughter and sadness. Harvie faces a lot of tragedy in his life, and it makes for a very enjoyable watch.
Fakt 1024: You should watch this film.
