Review of Harvard Man (2001) by Ciara M — 09 Jul 2007
Not really good. But not easy to point to what. The actors are not great in any way, but I'm not sure if that is because they are shit, or the director can't instruct or just that the rather fast pace edit gives them no chance to show anything. The editing is special. I believe this is a film for film makers, just because it shows of so many diffent ways of using cameras and editing to create effects. My problem with the film is that there is no structure or rational behind these effects it is all very random. If you want a flick to get you through an evening, you might want something else. If your currently planning on working with video, check this out for a library of camera movements and editing technics.
Final words. This film has interesting parts to it(good). but somehow the actors never get to shine too much(bad) and the one thing good films, good directors and actually all good artist have. refinement and structure. This film lacks compleatly. (not impressive).
