Review of Hart's War (2002) by Tristan M — 16 Jun 2014
I haven't seen any other court room movies, and this being my first, I can say I might have found a new genre I like. This movie moves pretty quickly, which is good, because if it took to much time in some areas than it might have lost my interest.
It starts off with a breif chase and capture, which is better than just starting in the prison camp, and then the main character, Hart, is interrogated. This is another good, but breif part, and is followed by a air attack on their transport train.
This is a cool scene, and it was very creative the way the POWs formed letters to spell P O W to stop the attack. Then the rest of the movie takes place in the camp, and is a little slow, but got my interest.
It has a good idea, the classic sacrifice a few for the sake of the many, but does it in a good way. The ending is well played out, has a few unexpected twists, and finishes off the movie in a good way, even though the prisoners are still prisoners.
So good movie, sparked a new interest for me, and showed Bruce Willis in a not as tough guy way for once.
