It's a slow moving movie that takes a while to get into, but once you do it kind of grabs you. It's a war movie, and as war movies do it explores different ethical and moral issues while focusing in on the heroism that accompanies soldiers of war.

This movie is perhaps a bit more human then most though, playing out as a courtroom drama. It's not quite as intense as A Few Good Men, but the two are also very different types of movies. It's commentary on racial stereotypes and the struggles of black people in WW2 basically encompass the emotional heart of this film, and the actors try their best to portray the injustice of a black man being unfairly tried for something he didn't do.

The plot is pushed forward by the actors, seeing as this is a human war drama, and if it is confusing at first it does manage to pull together to display a powerful message of the true heroes of this story.
