Review of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) by Daniel V — 21 Aug 2012
By far the best Potter movie other than the last. Visually, acting, writing. Alfonso Cuaron is becoming one of my fave directors. Check out Children of Men, you will not be sorry. Thus begins Harry Potter's descent into Darkness.
Not Anakin Skywalker darkness, but into a resolved 13 year-old forced to grow up faster than any child should. But that will happen when you have one of the most powerful wizards who just so happens to be one the most evil beings to ever live hellbent on killing you.
Radcliffe, Watson and Grint are beginning to become one with these characters, showing acting prowess that peers years older than them have just begun to grasp. Harry Potter is one of those phenomenon's that is greater than it's hype.
I loved the books, but here is where I first realized that what J.K. Rowling created, was truly something special.
