Review of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) by Jordan S — 21 Sep 2012
Azkaban takes the first plunge into a darker tone without warmth to pacify it from time to time. What Alfonso Cauron makes of this third adventure is a greater time dedicated to character development and relationships while magic takes a back seat and hormones ride shotgun.
Radcliffe is still awkward in places but his performance has taken a leap into greater territories, offering emotional torment that feel tangible. All story threads lead to one of the most intriguing and enjoyable third acts of series.
Cauron sets a tone that can't be ignored.
