Review of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) by Javier F — 20 Jan 2013
Cinematically speaking, this is the most impressive and beautiful Harry Potter film in the series. Taking over from Chris Columbus' two film streak, Alfonso Cuaron remains faithful to the novel, while also deviating from the book to make the transition from page to screen more fluid.
The young cast members improved as actors/actresses, especially Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson. For a "kid's film", Prisoner of Azkaban is unusually dark, mature and also extremely haunting.
A classic fantasy film that Rowling and those at Warner Bros. should be proud of.
