Review of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) by Stefan G — 02 Aug 2013
In the third outing based on J. K. Rowling's series of novels, Daniel Radcliffe's attempts at being recognized as a serious actor become all the more obvious, and all the more annoying in the moments when he decides to ham it up.
The story sure sounds like it's a good attempt, but near the end, it screws it all up by having Harry and Hermione go back in time. I know that time travel tends to complicate the plot, but this seems just foolish.
The film is riddled with magical special effects, but it just seems to hide the fact that the film-makers are so full of themselves that they can't see anything wrong with the film. I'm not saying that it's a bad movie, but it's not a very good one either, and like the others, it's painfully long.
