Review of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) by Baurushan J — 14 Dec 2013
For me, this is the most underrated of all sequels. After Richard Harris who played the original Dumbledore died, Chris Columbus who directed the first two Harry Potter movies left the franchise so therefore the role of Dumbledore went to Michael Gambon and the third movie is directed by Alfonso Cuarón.
The story is about Harry who returns to school for his third year after fighting with the Dursleys and returning to his friends but he finds out that there are hundreds of ghostly/demonic guards known as Dementors are after Harry believing that he might know about the first escaped prisoner of the wizarding prison of Azkaban.
It turns out they are right; Harry now needs to find out about the connection he has with the prisoner and himself and how they're related in anyway to his parents or him. This sequel is very important both to me and the franchise and it shouldn't be underrated.
It shows the time where the characters are going through a big dramatic change after the first two films and they are finding more about themselves. I own two DVDs of this film: one which my uncle bought me a long time ago and and a 1-Disc DVD that came along with the first four Harry Potter films in one pack and this was during the time before Harry Potter 5 came out.
Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban gets a 10/10.
