Review of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) by Magnus G — 20 Sep 2014
Prisoner of Azkaban is where Harry Potter evolved into a more mature and creatively driven franchise, eschewing all the wide-eyed innocent hijinks of the first and, to some degree, the second film. The characters feel more fleshed out and the story feels more unpredictable and tense.
The film does occasionally fall into the trap of its predecessors with the who-dunnit scenario and Daniel Radcliffe's acting does get a bit irritating at times. However, this is still a great film and my favourite of the Potter films overall.
